The Jubilee Singers
New Milton Community Centre
Singing is good for you is what they say and we, in the Jubilee Choir are proof of this. We are a fun choir in that we enjoy every note we sing - well - almost every note, sometimes we go a bit off key but that doesn't matter at all, its all part of the fun. You don't have to read music either although this would be useful, and you don't have to have an audition. We practice on a Wednesday afternoon at the Community Centre from 2-4 pm so you don't have to come out on cold dark nights.

Poetry Appreciation
New Milton Community Association
Suggestions are made for topics at the November meeting and then eleven are agreed upon by members.
The meetings are very different from most people's memories of school poetry lessons. We meet to enjoy poetry and share our favourites, not to analyse and make critiques of them. Some poets make regular appearances; for example Pam Ayres, Wordsworth, Keats and John Betjeman but many are less well known or lived centuries ago.
Most people come with poems to read and some prefer to listen as others read their choices. It is a small group but new members are always made very welcome.

Orchestras
New Forest Orchestra
The New Forest Orchestra consists of keen and talented Amateur Musicians who meet regularly in term -time to rehearse Orchestral Music. We perform several Concerts a year in locations in the New Forest - most frequently in New Milton , Milford and Lymington. Our experienced Musical Director is Ieuan Davies. We are particularly keen to recruit more String Players. As a rough guide , Grade 5 Standard is necessary for comfort – but regular playing does lead to improvement. A list of previous Concerts can be found on our website.

New Members are always warmly welcomed. There is no entrance Audition but players need to be of at least Grade 5 to be comfortable. We find that regular orchestral playing soon dispels rustiness so many players have enjoyed returning to their instruments after several (or in some cases , many) years gap.
