University of the
Third Age (U3A) is a self-help organisation for people no longer in
full time employment, aiming to provide self-help interest groups
who can draw upon the experience and skills of others to provide
educational, creative and leisure opportunities in a friendly
environment. You do not need any qualifications to host or join a
U3A group, just enthusiasm to share. There are no exams to study for
and no qualifications to be gained. New Milton branch of U3A was
formed in 2010 since when membership has continued to grow and
therefore new interest groups are being formed all the time.
Each month we have a speaker on a variety of interesting subjects
after which members and visitors can enjoy socializing with their
friends or meeting new people over light refreshments which are
provided for a small charge. New members always welcome.

We are all ladies with diverse interests in crafting. Once a month
we welcome a speaker or demonstrator who is usually craft related
but not always. The alternate morning is our Workshop day when we
all bring an item of craft on which we are working. This varies
immensely, i.e. card making, beading, soft toy making, knitting,
crochet, cross stitch etc.
Many members make items all through the year which are then donated
to the 'Shoe Box Appeal' for wherever they are needed in the world
and these are gratefully received by the organisers.

Crescendi is a local contemporary
choir in the New Forest run by Jo Corbin, established in 2010.
We work towards putting on local concerts and performances to raise
money for various charities.
We sing a variety of music from
gospel to showsongs but Crescendi is a strictly non-classical zone!
We place the emphasis very much on having fun whilst creating an

We are an Amateur Orchestra who meet to practice and perform
classical music. We aim for high standards under the baton of our
promising conductor Lee Marchant : but that doesn't stop us having
fun! We hold several concerts a year in various venues ion the New
Forest area and participate in local Arts Festivals.
Notably we were the concluding act at the Milford on Sea Arts
Festival in 2013 playing a selection of Ballet and Theatre Music
followed by a selection of “Last Night of the Proms” repertoire and
accompanying the Hallelujah Chorus, Jerusalem and “Land
of Hope and Glory in Milford’s “Big Village Sing”.
New Members are always warmly welcomed. There is no entrance
Audition but players need to be of at least Grade 5 to be
comfortable. We find that regular orchestral playing soon dispels
rustiness so many players have enjoyed returning to their
instruments after several (or in some cases , many) years gap.
